Die Casting Together — privacy
The short version
No accounts, no sign-in, no cookies, no ads and no trackers. If you leave it on, the game sends anonymous play data that cannot identify you. You can turn it off in Settings.
What the game sends
Counts of runs started, act one finished (won or lost), and Wishlist presses (which screen). Once a day, at your first run, counts of the settings you changed from the defaults: volume ranges, text size steps, on/off choices, playback speed, camera tilt, hint style, chosen language and whether any key was rebound. We also count changes away from defaults. No window size, actual keys or detected device details. A local flag counts each first-time step once: launch, title, roller select, first run start, first commit, first fight won or lost, event, Warden reached and act one won. The flag stays on your device; no install id is sent. Private windows or cleared storage count as new installs, and a step just before a web tab closes can be lost. When a run ends, it sends one replay and a short summary (heroes, solo/hotseat/online, how far, turns and outcome), including whether it was the install's first run. Each message says demo/full, web/Steam and build. Dates are day-level only, never a time of day.
What it never sends
Your name, a Steam or account id, an email, an IP address to keep, your browser or device details, a cookie or any id that follows you. Nothing ties two runs to the same person, not even for us.
Why
To see whether people start and finish the demo, and to balance the game from real runs: every number can be recomputed by replaying a run.
How long
Play records are deleted after 180 days, automatically, every hour. Day counts are kept up to 400 days. Online lobbies are deleted 24 hours after their last move.
Turning it off
Settings → "Share anonymous play data" → Off. It stops at once, and nothing waiting to be sent is sent. A browser that sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is treated as Off.
Our host
The game and its server run on Cloudflare. Like every web host it sees your IP address to deliver the page, and keeps short-lived request logs under its own policy. We use those logs only to fix outages. To stop abuse our server counts requests per IP address for one minute, in memory, and never stores it.
On your device
Full settings, saved runs, progress and first-time flags stay on your computer or in your browser. Only the coarse setting counts and play records described above are sent.
Deleting
Because a record carries nothing that identifies you, we cannot find "your" records to delete them. Turning sharing off means none are made.
